Horse Assisted Therapy for Veterans "As prey animals, horses are hypervigilant until they learn they are not in danger. ... Because of their own hypervigilance, veterans with PTSD easily understand and can relate to the trust and hypervigilance in a horse."  Read more about Horse Assisted Therapy.

All of the programs at HARTH Foundation are made possible by donations and the generosity of our sponsors and supporters. We would not be here without the critical support provided by our sponsors!  Thank you!

Helping Hands Scholarship Program

While HARTH has provided therapeutic riding sessions to a number of children and adults with physical, developmental, and emotional disabilities since starting this program, there remains a large number of special needs individuals in the community who can benefit from these programs but cannot take on the financial burden.  In order to provide therapeutic riding programs to those in need, HARTH launched the Helping Hands program to assist those families with a special needs individual (or individuals) who cannot take on the financial burden of these vital EAAT services.  HARTH has the only program of this kind in Burnet and Llano counties.  HARTH’s goal is to never turn away a family in need due to their inability to pay.

The scholarship amount awarded to an individual is determined based on family income, number in household, and special circumstances the family may be facing.  Scholarships for therapeutic riding sessions are also based on available funding.  Please help HARTH reach its goal of never turning away a family in need due to their inability to pay.  Learn more about becoming a Helping Hands Program Sponsor.

Blue Ribbon Club

Members of our Blue Ribbon Club help care for the horses which are at the heart of the HARTH Foundation programs. The ongoing monthly sponsorship of one of these wonderful horses provides the essentials needed for these beautiful animals to remain healthy and happy. All of the horses used in at HARTH Foundation require daily, ongoing care to ensure that they are healthy and pain free. HARTH horses are well cared for and the result is a happy horse that is a willing and eager participant.
