Horsemanship II Class series - To Be Scheduled
This 6-week class series takes place from 10:30am until 12:30pm on Thursday morning and is a continuation of Horsemanship I. The purpose of this course is to continue to assist in regulating social skills and mental well-being through an activity based relationship with a horse which include studying the proper management, care, and handling of a horse. Activities are organized to help clients in areas of assertiveness, relationships, trust, patience, communication, body language, confidence, and overall emotional regulation.  Participants’ emphasis will be on hands on participation. Participants will have adequate time to apply these principles to a horse and are given opportunities to reflect on how these principles apply to their life. Goals will be set and participants will work to reach these goals.  This course is FREE to veterans and open to others for a fee of $150.  Note, although the class if free to veterans, a $25 deposit is required in order to hold your place in the class.  This $25 deposit will be returned upon successful completion of the class series.  Advance registration is required.

Horsemanship I Class series - starting Thursday June 13, 2019 and Saturday June 22nd, 2019. 

This 6-week class series takes place from 10:30am until 12:30pm on Thursday or 4pm until 6pm on Saturday  and is a great introduction to working with and around horses.  The purpose of this course is to assist in regulating social skills and mental well-being through an activity based relationship with a horse which include studying the proper management, care, and handling of a horse. Topics will include horse behavior, basic groundwork, haltering, leading, horse behaviors, proper lounging techniques, basic horse anatomy, basic pressure techniques, lameness and judging.  These activities are organized to help clients in areas of assertiveness, relationships, trust, patience, communication, body language, confidence, and overall emotional regulation.  Participants’ emphasis will be on hands on participation. Participants will have adequate time to apply these principles to a horse and are given opportunities to reflect on how these principles apply to their life. Vets By The Lake

Join us for a fun filled afternoon by the lake!  This event is open to veterans and their families.  This is a very informal event that takes place from 1pm until 4pm at the HARTH facilities.  Bring a dish to share, whatever you want to grill for you and your family, your favorite water floaties and your own cooler and you are all set!  We have games and grills ready to go.  Advance registration is required.  Email This email address is being protected from spambots.
